ATHENS, Ohio -- The Ohio football team reports for fall camp today as the Bobcats begin their 15th season under the leadership of head coach Frank Solich. The Bobcats' first practice will take place on Friday (Aug. 2) beginning at 9:05 a.m. ET at Peden Stadium.

Ohio is coming off of a 2018 season in which it went 9-4 (6-2 MAC), finishing in a tie for second in the Mid-American Conference East Division. The Bobcats earned at least nine wins for the sixth time under Solich. Ohio capped off the year by shutting out San Diego State, 27-0, in the 2018 DXL Frisco Bowl in Frisco, Texas. The Bobcats accounted for the MAC's lone bowl win in 2018 and earned the distinction of being the conference's first team to pitch a shutout in a bowl win.

Solich is 106-75 during his tenure as head coach of the Bobcats, ranking him third in program history behind Don Peden (121; 1924-46) and Bill Hess (108; 1958-77). With five more wins, Solich will pass Herb Deromedi (110, Central Michigan, 1978-93) for the most by a MAC head coach. He has guided Ohio to four MAC East Division titles and 10 bowl appearances and four bowl victories over the last 14 years. Solich owns a career coaching record of 164-94 heading into the 2019 season. His 164 wins rank as the fourth most among active NCAA FBS head coaches, trailing only North Carolina's Mack Brown (238), Alabama's Nick Saban (238) and TCU's Gary Patterson (167).

Ohio is set to return three All-MAC selections from the 2018 squad, including senior quarterback Nathan Rourke (Oakville, Ontario, Canada), redshirt senior defensive back Javon Hagan (Jacksonville, Fla.) and redshirt senior punter Michael Farkas (Mishawaka, Ind.). The Bobcats were selected to win both the MAC East Division and the 2019 Marathon MAC Football Championship Game in the conference's media preseason poll.

Ohio has 19 scheduled practices at Peden Stadium as a part of fall camp. All practices are open to the media and times are subject to change. Photography and video recording are only allowed for the first 10 minutes of each practice.

The Bobcats will also host their annual Ohio Football Media day on Wednesday, Aug. 7 at Peden Stadium. On Saturday, Aug. 17, Ohio will host an open practice as part of a Fan Appreciation Day event.

Ohio will kick off the 2019 regular season on Saturday, Aug. 31, with a home matchup against Rhode Island at Peden Stadium. The contest is slated to get underway at 2 p.m. ET and will be broadcast live on ESPN+. For ticket information, call the ticket office at 1-800-575-2287 or click here.
