CLEVELAND, Ohio - Senior Matt Lasher (Copley, Ohio) has been named the Mid-American Conference East Division Special Teams Player of the Week for his effort in the Ohio football team's victory versus Tennessee-Martin on Sept. 2.
Lasher performed all three of the kicking duties for the Bobcats. He made the first two field goal attempts of his career, hitting from 20 and 29 yards. He was also successful on all three of his extra-point attempts.
As a punter, Lasher hit six punts for an average of 42.8 yards per kick. He pinned the Skyhawks inside their own 20-yard line on four occasions, including twice inside the five-yard line. Lasher also kicked off for the Bobcats, averaging 62.7 yards per kick. The Skyhawks' average drive start following Lasher's kicks and punts was their own 15-yard line.
Lasher's selection marks the fourth time the Bobcats have had the division special teamer of the week in the last two seasons.
