ATHENS, Ohio - Bobcat fans can now watch highlights from Ohio Head Coach Frank Solich's weekly press conference. In Wednesday's installment, Solich evaluated the team's running game against UT Martin and his expectations for the remainder of the season.
Ohio's running attack got off to a slow start with 62 yards on the ground in the opener against Tennessee-Martin. It was the exact rushing total the Bobcats had in last season's first game at Northwestern.
The Bobcats averaged only 81.0 yards per game on the ground in its first three games this season before catching stride and averaging 209.0 yards per contest for the remaining eight games, including a 300-yard game (Kent State) and a 400-yard game (Ball State).
Solich also discussed the team's quarterback situation. Senior Austen Everson (Brentwood, Tenn.) will be the starter against Northern Illinois with junior Brad Bower (Burr Ridge, Ill.) continuing to see game action in relief.
Saturday's match-up with the Huskies begins at 3 p.m. ET. The game will be televised by Comcast SportsNet Chicago and can be seen in Central and Southeastern Ohio on WFMJ-TV in Columbus and WQCW in the Huntington/Charleston television market, which includes Athens County.
