ATHENS, Ohio - For the second straight week, Ohio will face one of the top rushers in the nation when it battles Rutgers and sophomore running back Ray Rice. Head Coach Frank Solich addressed the Scarlet Knights' backfield during his weekly press conference.
Rice is ranked fourth in the nation with 154.5 yards per contest. Northern Illinois' Garrett Wolfe is the country's leading rusher. Senior fullback Brian Leonard is also a threat on the ground. Leonard ranks sixth on Rutgers' all-time rushing list with 2,387 yards. He is also the Scarlet Knights' leading reciever with nine catches for 62 yards.
Solich also talked about his team's reaction to the Bobcats' first 2-0 start since 1997. A Bobcat victory in Piscataway would give the squad its first 3-0 start since 1976 when the team began the year 4-0.
The contest at Rutgers will be televised on MSG beginning at 3:30 p.m. The game will also be aired on WQCW-TV in southeastern Ohio and WSFJ-TV in central Ohio. Bob Picozzi will handle the play-by-play with Doug Graber serving as the analyst.
