ATHENS, Ohio - Ohio Athletics will celebrate ROTC/Heroes' Day when the Bobcat football team hosts Bowling Green at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 30. All ROTC, military, police, fire, and EMT personnel, both retired and active, will be admitted for $5 with their families receiving $7 admission.
In addition, WOUB is the official game sponsor of Saturday's contest. All fans will have a chance to win a 32" LCD HDTV at the game courtesy of WOUB.
Prior to the game, fans can visit the Lifeline of Ohio tent at Pepsi Tail-Great Park. The organization, which promotes organ donation in Ohio, will be distributing posters featuring Rufus the Bobcat in recognition of its new partnership with Ohio Athletics to help raise awareness about organ and tissue donation in southern Ohio. Ohio Head Women's Basketball Coach Sylvia Crawley will be on hand to help hand out the posters and meet with fans.
The football contest is not the only home athletic event taking place during the university's Parents Weekend. On Friday, the Ohio soccer team hosts Northern Illinois at 4 p.m. On Saturday, the 21st-ranked Ohio volleyball squad will be in action at The Convo versus Eastern Michigan at 5:30 p.m. Fans can take their ticket stub from the football game to the volleyball game and receive $2 for adults and free admission for kids under 18. Soccer is in action again on Sunday, taking on Western Michigan at 1 p.m.
The Bowling Green game is the first of two straight home contests for the Bobcats. Ohio will also host Western Michigan on Saturday, Oct. 7 at 12 p.m. For information on tickets, call the Ohio Athletics Ticket Office at 1-800-575-CATS.
