ATHENS, Ohio - The Bobcats head to Miami for the regular-season finale with a trip to the MAC Championship Game already assured. Watch highlights from Head Coach Frank Solich's press conference as he talked about his team's approach to the game in Oxford.
A win in the regular-season finale would clinch a number of milestones for the Bobcats, including securing an outright MAC East Division championship. A win would also give the Bobcats nine wins in a season for the first time since 1968 (10-1) and only the fourth time in school history. It would also be Ohio's school-record seventh MAC win of the season.
Ohio enters the game hoping to continue one streak and stop another. If the Bobcats can stretch their current winning streak to seven games, it would mark the program's longest since the 1968 team won 10 straight. A victory in Oxford would also snap a six-game losing streak to the RedHawks.
In addition to talking about his team's mindset entering Friday's game, Solich also broke down the RedHawks. Despite its 2-9 record, Miami comes into the game with the MAC's third-ranked passing offense (236.3), second-ranked passer (Mike Kokal, 223.9 yards per game) and top-rated receiver (Ryne Robinson, 7.55 receptions per game, 98.8 yards per game).
Following the regular-season finale, the Bobcats will travel to Detroit to take on Central Michigan in the MAC Championship Game. For more information, click on the above MAC Championship Central link or call the Ohio Athletics Ticket Office at 1-800-575-CATS.
