Ohio field hockey junior Kendall Ballard (Charlottesville, Va.) earned First Team All-Mid-American Conference honors while senior Maria Russell (Hudson, Ohio) and junior Emma Eggleston (Houston, Tex.) received Second Team recognition the league office announced on Thursday (Nov. 2).
Ballard earns First Team All-MAC honors for the second time in her career, after recording her first First Team All-MAC nod her sophomore season and Second Team honors as a freshman in 2015. Russell now has three All-MAC honors in her career, earning Second Team recognition last season and First Team honors as a sophomore. Eggleston earns her first conference recognition this season.
Ballard led the squad in goals (8), total points (21) and shots (45). Ballard would finish fifth in the MAC in both shots and goals.
Ballard and Eggleston both led the Bobcats in assists, each recording five on the season, the two rank seventh in the conference in assists.
Ballard now has 21 career goals and 10 career assists.
Russel finished second on the team in goals (6), total points (13) and shots (16).
Russell finishes her tenure at Ohio with 26 career goals and four career assists.
Ohio's season came to an end after its contests with Kent State and Louisville last weekend (Oct. 28-29).
