ATHENS, Ohio – Ohio Field Hockey's senior Karynne Baker (Falls Church, Va.) is the MAC Offensive Player of the Week, as announced by the league office today (Oct. 15).
Baker provided a spark for the Bobcats in their 6-1 blowout win over Central Michigan on Sunday, Oct. 13. She scored the second and third goal for Ohio and assisted on the fourth. With her two goals, Baker moves into a three-way tie for the team lead in goals scored with five. Junior Leah Warren (Hamilton, New Zealand) and redshirt senior Kendall Ballard (Charlottesville, Va.) also have five.
This is Ohio's second MAC Offensive Player of the Week this season, with Warren capturing the title for the week of Sept. 24.
Baker and the Bobcats are home this weekend to take on conference foe Ball State on Friday, Oct. 18. First touch is scheduled for 3 p.m. Then, Ohio takes on their last Big Ten opponent of the year when the Indiana Hoosiers come to Pruitt Field on Sunday, Oct. 20. First touch for that game is scheduled for 12 p.m.
