ATHENS, Ohio -- The No. 3-seeded Ohio field hockey team (8-7, 4-2 MAC) will take on either No. 6-seeded Appalachian State (9-8, 1-5 MAC) or No. 7-seeded Central Michigan (2-16, 0-6 MAC) in the 2019 Mid-American Conference Championship Quarterfinals on Thursday (Nov. 7) at 1:30 p.m. ET at Miami University Field Hockey Field in Oxford, Ohio.
The Mountaineers and the Chippewas are set to square off in the first round of the MAC Championship on Wednesday (Nov. 6) at noon ET. The winner of Thursday's quarterfinal match will meet No. 2-seeded Miami in the semifinals on Friday (Nov. 8) at 2:30 p.m. ET. The 2019 MAC Championship Final is set for Saturday (Nov. 9) at 2 p.m. ET.
The Bobcats have wins over both Appalachian State and Central Michigan this season, taking down both on the road. Ohio erased a three-goal deficit against Appalachian State on Friday, Sept. 20, taking down the Mountaineers, 6-5. On Oct. 13 the Bobcats stormed out to an early lead against Central Michigan, never letting up, and defeating the Chippewas, 6-1.
