Getting To Know The @OhioFieldHockey Team: Amelia Milton
Oct. 8, 2016

“Getting To Know The @OhioFieldHockey Team” is a series where each player is asked 10 questions about themselves. The questions range from personal interests to background information about each player. Today’s featured player is graduate student Amelia Milton (Exton, Rutland, England).

Where are you from? How does it differ from Athens?
I am from Oakham which is a really, really small town in England in the smallest county called Rutland. You think Athens is small it is nothing compared to my hometown. This is actually pretty big for me so it’s very different but it’s nice.

What is your favorite thing about Athens?
I think obviously the field hockey has got to be one of them and probably the weather. The weather is so beautiful and sunny and it’s warm, which in England it’s not this time of year.

What is your hidden talent?
I am an advanced scuba diver.

What is your favorite thing about being a member of the Bobcats?
I can’t really pick a point specifically. I love being a part of the team, it’s great. It’s a great atmosphere, really welcoming and we stick together. Everything is great.

What is your favorite type of music?
I really like Adele, but I would say chart music is my favorite and the most I listen to.

What artist or type of music do you listen to get pumped up for a match?
Since I have been here, the girls have introduced me to a band called The Chainsmokers, which is a band that I think first played here last spring. So probably one of their songs is what we here in the locker room a lot and we listen to them before games.

What is your favorite food?
I love cheesecake.

What is your favorite sport other than field hockey?
Track and field.

Do you have a hobby?
Skiing, I love skiing. I go every year with my family and with friends and it’s a great hobby.

What is your major? What do you want to do after college?
I am doing a master’s in public health and back home I studied medicine. So hopefully that will help me grasp the area of medicine that I want to be a doctor. So we’ll see.
