“Getting To Know The @OhioFieldHockey Team” is a series where each player is asked 10 questions about themselves. The questions range from personal interests to background information about each player. Today’s featured player is senior Kennedy Farr (Virgil, Ontario).
Where are you from? Was field hockey big where you grew up?
I am from Ontario, Canada, near Niagara Falls. Where I am from, my region, it wasn’t big at all, but up near Toronto it was bigger and that’s where I played on my club team. My high school did have it, but it was the only high school in my region so we had to go Toronto which is about an hour and a half away. So it wasn’t too bad to play other schools.
What is your favorite thing about Athens?
It’s a college town. That’s probably my favorite thing. It’s a beautiful campus, that’s what sold me. The whole town of Athens is based around the university, so I really like that.
What is your hidden talent?
I am really flexible and good at yoga.
What is your favorite thing about being a member of the Bobcats?
Our team is like a family. That’s pretty nice. It’s not very cliquey and it’s nice that we are all really close friends on and off the field. That’s definitely my favorite thing.
What is your favorite type of music?
I like country.
What artist or type of music do you listen to get pumped up for a match?
I like Calvin Harris and EDM (electronic dance music) to get pumped up. Probably his song “Summer” is my favorite.
What is your favorite food?
Has to be gnocchi. It’s an Italian dish.
What is your favorite sport other than field hockey?
Definitely hockey. I love to watch hockey.
What is your favorite hobby?
Yoga, I love yoga.
What is your major? What do you want to do after college?
My major is sociology/pre-law. I plan to take a year off and work in a law firm. Then eventually go to law school either in America or in Canada.
