“Getting To Know The @OhioFieldHockey Team” is a series where each player is asked 10 questions about themselves. The questions range from personal interests to background information about each player. Today’s featured player is junior Rachel Kho (Oakville, Ontario).
Where are you from? Was field hockey big where you grew up?
I am from Oakville, Ontario, Canada, and it’s about an hour outside of the big city Toronto. Being from Canada, ice hockey was the big thing, so field hockey was a little bit of an afterthought. I started field hockey in high school, so I started a little later.
What is your favorite thing about Athens?
I think my favorite about Athens is all of the little gems around everywhere. There ae so many different things you can do, you just have to take some time to yourself and go find those things like going to The Ridges.
What is your hidden talent?
I can do a backflip.
What is your favorite thing about being a member of the Bobcats?
Definitely the support from the girls and having that family atmosphere around you. My parents come down maybe once a month so it’s nice just having the families together and having the support.
What is your favorite type of music?
Right now it’s EDM, but usually anything that is in the top-50 charts.
What artist or type of music do you listen to get pumped up for a match?
I like to listen to some rap. It just gets me really pumped up.
What is your favorite food?
Mac and cheese.
What is your favorite sport other than field hockey?
Hockey, for sure hands down.
What is your favorite hobby?
Playing ice hockey.
What is your major? What do you want to do after college?
My major is sports management with an analytics co-major and a finance minor. I want to work for an NHL team when I go back home, but I have also been looking at maybe traveling to Europe and working with the Premier League.
