“Getting To Know The @OhioFieldHockey Team” is a series where each player is asked 10 questions about themselves. The questions range from personal interests to background information about each player. Today’s featured player is redshirt sophomore Cassie Rich (Chesapeake, Va.).
Where are you from? Was field hockey big in your hometwon growing up?
I’m from Chesapeake, Va., and it was not very big. I was a part of one of the first teams in the city, but it is growing and has gotten a lot bigger since I left.
What is your favorite thing about Athens?
Definitely the campus. The university is so pretty and the staff is great.
What is your hidden talent?
I can pole vault.
What is your favorite thing about being a member of the Bobcats?
The family atmosphere. Most of us are from out of state, so it’s nice to have a family nearby.
What is your favorite type of music?
Anything with a good beat. Anything catchy, mostly the top 50.
What artist or type of music do you listen to get pumped up for a match?
I like The Chainsmokers as an artist. As far as songs go, probably “300 Violins.”

Track and field.

What is your major? What do you want to do after college?
I am a biological sciences major with a minor in psychology. After college I would like to work on a sports medicine program with a collegiate team.
