ATHENS, Ohio-- The Ohio men's basketball program has added guard Miles Brown (Rochester, N.Y.) to its 2019-20 recruiting class, first-year head coach Jeff Boals announced on Friday (April 26).
"Miles has an ability to impact a game in a variety of ways and on both ends of the floor," Boals said. "He is a shot maker, can create shots for others and is a winner. Miles' work ethic and winning mentality will help us on and off the court."
Brown, a 6-2 guard, played five seasons at Northstar Christian Academy, playing on the varsity squad when he was in eighth grade. While there, Brown helped lead Northstar Christian Academy to three state tournament appearances. He finished his career as a three-time sectional champion, three-time sectional MVP and was named Class A First Team All-State. Brown is a three time All-Greater Rochester First Team selection. He was the 2018 New York State Class C Player of the year and in 2019, Brown was named the Rochester Radio Press Club Male High School Athlete of the Year and was named to the All-New York Second Team. Brown is also a three time Section V Leading Scorer.
During his senior season. Brown averaged 33.8 points per game, while finishing his career as the Section V All-Time Leading Scorer with 2,914 points, which places him third all-time in New York state history, while helping Northstar secure the most wins of any player in the Section V era.
