Complete 2019-20 Schedule 

CLEVELAND– The Ohio men's basketball program's 18-game 2020 Mid-American Conference schedule was announced today (Sept. 4) by the league office.

The Bobcats will play nine league home games at the Convocation Center and nine conference games away from Athens. Ohio will take on each of its five East Division rivals twice -- once at home and once on the road. The Bobcats will play each of the six MAC West teams at least once and will square off against both Western Michigan and Eastern Michigan twice -- once at home and once on the road.

Before the start of conference play, the Bobcats will see their Dec. 17 home game against Purdue played on a nationally televised broadcast inside the Convocation Center, with Ohio and the Boilermakers set for a 9 p.m. tipoff on ESPN2. 

The 2020 conference slate begins on the road under first-year head coach Jeff Boals as the Bobcats head to Kalamazoo, Mich. to face off with Western Michigan (Jan. 4). The Bobcats will return to Athens for back-to-back home games when Eastern Michigan (Jan. 7) and MAC East foe Bowling Green (Jan. 11) come to the Convo. The Bobcats defeated Bowling Green, 92-87 in their last meeting inside the Convocation Center last February. The Bobcats will play their next two contests on the road with a trip to reigning MAC champion Buffalo (Jan. 14) before heading to Eastern Michigan (Jan. 18) for their second tilt with the Eagles in 11 days. The Bobcats return to Athens for home games against Toledo (Jan. 21) and Akron (Jan. 25), before closing out January on the road at Northern Illinois (Jan. 28). 

Ohio begins February on the road in Muncie, Ind. to take on Ball State (Feb. 1). After a week off, the Bobcats welcome Miami (Feb. 8) to the Convo to take on the RedHawks in the first edition of the 2020 version of the 'Battle of the Bricks'. After another game in the Convo, this one against Western Michigan (Feb. 11), Ohio heads to Kent State to take on the Golden Flashes on Saturday, Feb. 15. A home matchup with Central Michigan (Feb. 18) is next, before Ohio heads to Bowling Green to take on the Falcons on Saturday, Feb. 22. Ohio will close out the month of February with back-to-back home games, starting with Buffalo (Feb. 25), before wrapping up the home slate on Saturday, Feb. 29 against Kent State.  

Ohio will wrap up the regular season on the road, first heading to Akron (March 3), before concluding the regular season in Oxford, Ohio to take on Miami (March 6) for round two of the 'Battle of the Bricks'. 

This year's MAC Men's Basketball Tournament will begin Monday, March 9th with first round games on campus before moving to Cleveland's Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse (March 12-14). The MAC Men's Basketball Semifinal games will once again air on CBS Sports Network, while the Championship Game will be played on Saturday, March 14th (Time TBA, ESPN2).

The Bobcats enter their season under Boals, and will return MAC Freshman of the Year and MAC All-Freshman Team member Ben Vander Plas (Ripon, Wisc.), along with fellow All-Freshman Team member Jason Preston (Orlando, Fla.). Ohio will welcome seven newcomers to the roster:  freshmen Ben Roderick (Columbus, Ohio), Marvin Price (Baltimore, Md.), Miles Brown (Rochester, N.Y.), Michael Brown (Rochester, N.Y.), Lunden McDay (Akron, Ohio), Nolan Foster (Mattawan, Mich.) and graduate transfer Sylvester Ogbonda (Port Harcourt, Nigeria).
