AKRON, Ohio -- The Ohio men's golf team is in first place through two rounds of the Firestone Invitational with a combined team score of 564 (-12). The Bobcats opened the 54-hole tournament by tallying rounds of 281 (-7) and 283 (-5) today at the Firestone Country Club North Course.
Three Bobcats currently rank in the top 12 on the tournament leaderboard.
Sophomore Zach Crawford (Vandalia, Ohio) is pacing Ohio and is tied for second place with Furman junior Keller Harper with a 138 (-6) through two rounds. Crawford and Harper trail Winthrop freshman Ryan Tattan, who fired rounds of 69 (-5) and 68 (-4) for a two-round total of 137 (-7). Crawford shot matching rounds of 69 (-3) to put him in a tie with Harper.
Sophomore Zach Mandry (Solon, Ohio) is tied for fifth place with six other players with a 140 (-4). After shooting a career-low 71 (-5) in the first round, he set a new career best with a second-round 69 (-3).
Senior Ben Sattler (Liberty Township, Ohio) is in a six-way tie for 12th with a 141 (-3). He notched rounds of 70 (-2) and 71 (-1).
Sophomore Tanner Johnson (Venetia, Pa.) is tied for 32nd with a 145 (+1) after shooting rounds of 71 (-1) and 74 (+2), with his first-round score marking a new career best.
Sophomore Austin Dyson (Dublin, Ohio) tallied round scores of 77 (+5) and 81 (+9) to give him a 158 (+14) and put him in 83rd.
The final round of the Firestone Invitational will be held on Tuesday (Oct. 2) beginning at 8:30 a.m. from the No. 1 and No. 10 tees. Live scoring will be available via Golfstat.
