ATHENS, Ohio -- The Ohio men's golf program has signed Joshua Dinouard (Vevey, Switzerland) to a National Letter of Intent to its 2019-20 recruiting class, as announced by first-year head coach Carter Cheves today.
"We are excited to have Josh joining our program," said Cheves. "He has played in a lot of high-level events in multiple countries. We believe his experience and ability will add significant value to our team next year."
Dinouard has competed for the Swiss National Team and the Lausanne Junior Team since 2011, finishing as the U14 Swiss National Champion in both 2012 and '13. He also earned the Swiss Romande Championship in 2015. Dinouard was a member of the Lausanne Juniors Team that won National Juniors Interclubs championships in 2013, '14, '15 and '17 as well as a member of the Lausanne Team that captured the National Men's Amateur Division 1 Interclubs title in '18.
Born Nov. 11, 1999, Dinouard is the son of Philippe and Nicole Sabin Dinouard and has an older brother, Lucas.
The Bobcats are coming off of a 2018 fall season in which they earned a pair of top-three finishes, including a second-place finish at the Phoenix Intercollegiate, which was held Oct. 15-16 at Alamance Country Club in Burlington, N.C., in which Ohio posted a combined team score of 848 (-4) -- the second-best three-round total in program history. Sophomore Zach Crawford (Vandalia, Ohio) earned his first collegiate victory by winning the Firestone Invitational (Oct. 1-2) by three strokes at the Firestone Country Club North Course with a total score of 206 (-10), which ranks as the second-best three-round total in program history. He was named Mid-American Conference Golfer of the Week for the first time in his career for his efforts.
Ohio's 2019 spring schedule will commence Feb. 11-12 at the Earl Yestingsmeier Match Play, which will be held at Lake Jovita Golf & Country Club in Dade City, Fla.
