CLEVELAND -- Junior Austin Dyson (Dublin, Ohio) of the Ohio men's golf team has been named the Mid-American Conference Men's Golfer of the Week, as announced by the conference office today.
Dyson earned weekly conference honors for the first time in his career.
Dyson turned in the best finish of his collegiate career to date at the Phoenix Intercollegiate, tying for fifth place with a 206 (-7). After carding rounds of 65 (-6) and 71 (E) on Monday (Oct. 14), Dyson shot a final-round 70 (-1) on Tuesday (Oct. 15) at Alamance Country Club to secure the top-five finish. His first-round 65 marked the best of his collegiate career to date. As a team, the Bobcats finished in ninth place with a combined total team score of 854 (+2). Ohio compiled round scores of 281 (-3), 285 (+1) and 288 (+4).
Ohio will compete in its final event of the fall season Oct. 28-29 when it heads to Greensboro, N.C., for the Grandover Collegiate.
