ATHENS, Ohio – The Ohio men's and women's cross country teams head to Louisville, Ky. this weekend to compete in the Pre National Meet hosted by Adidas on Saturday, Oct. 14. The race will bring together some of the top college cross country programs in the nation, including 1,300 runners, at the E.P. Tom Sawyer Park.
The field includes eighth men's and 10 women's teams that are currently ranked in the U.S. Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Poll.
The event will begin with the men's seeded race at 10 a.m. followed by the women's seeded at 10:45. The remaining unseeded races will begin shortly after with the men at 11:30 and the women at 12:15 p.m.
Both Bobcat teams competed at the All-Ohio Championships (Sept. 29) held in Cedarville, Ohio.
All five of the women's scorers finished in the top 20 out of 81 Division I runners and led the team to a second-place finish and a total score of 56 points. Senior Ellen Isaac (Mansfield, Ohio) clocked a final time of 21:45.3 to take fifth place in the overall women's collegiate division.
On the men's side and similarly to the women's team, all five Bobcat scorers finished the 8K in the top 20 of the Division I competitors to help Ohio finish with a team score of 61 points. Senior Brad Miller (Bellbrook, Ohio) led the way for the Bobcats finishing the race fifth overall with a 25:02.0 mark.
