LEXINGTON, Ky.--The Ohio men's and women's cross country teams return to Athens after the Bluegrass Invitational in Lexington, Ky. The men's team took first overall as a team while the women had 7 runners finish in the top fifteen.
The men finished first as team with overall score of 27 points in the 8k race. The men were led by sophomore Josh Park (Amherst, Ohio) who finished second with a time of 25:32.7 followed closely by senior Kyle Bussard (Germantown, Ohio) in fourth with a time of 25:47.3 and red shirt sophomore Griffin Butler (Newark, Ohio) in fifth finishing with a time of 26:06.6.
The Bobcat women had seven runners finish in the top fifteen in the 5K. The fastest times were clocked in by sophomore Hailey Bowes (Arlington Heights, Ill.) who finished sixth with a time of 18:47.98 followed by a trio of Bobcats, junior Abby Miller (Mansfield, Ohio) with a time of 18:58.97 in eighth, freshman Madelyn Bartolone (Massillon, Ohio) 19:02.26 in ninth and freshman Rosie Lamb (Granville, Ohio) at 19:03.96 in tenth.
The cross country teams are set to compete at the Virginia Tech Alumni Invite this Friday (Sept. 14) in Blackburg, Va. The women are scheduled for a 6 p.m. start time with the men to follow at 6:45 p.m EST.
