ATHENS, Ohio– The Ohio Softball team has released its 2020 schedule, second-year head coach Kenzie Roark announced today (Nov. 18). The Bobcats will face off against eight teams that saw action in the 2019 NCAA Tournament including; Washington, Southern Illinois, Lipscomb, South Florida, Monmouth, Southeast Missouri, USC Upstate, and Toledo.
The Bobcats will open the season Feb. 7-9 when they head to Atlanta, Ga. While there, the Bobcats will take on University of Alabama Birmingham, Washington, Furman, and Georgia Tech.
The following week, Ohio will head to Chattanooga, Tenn. Feb. 14-16. The Bobcats will square off with Western Kentucky, Lipscomb, Indiana State, and Marshall. February. 21-23 we will see Ohio head to Charleston, S.C. for the 2020 Charleston Invitational where the Bobcats will see Army, North Carolina Central, Dartmouth Charleston Southern, and Appalachian State.
February 28 to March 1 will see Ohio head back to South Carolina to face off with University Maryland Eastern Shore, Coastal Carolina, Monmouth, and South Carolina Upstate.
Ohio will then head south to Clearwater, Fla. March 7-10 where the Bobcats will play six games in three days. The Bobcats will see action against St. Bonaventure, Iowa, South Dakota State, Merrimack, Providence, and Cleveland State. From there, they travel to Tampa, Fla. March 13-15 facing off against Iowa, South Florida, and Southeast Missouri.
The Bobcats will finally open up MAC play at Western Michigan on Saturday, March 21 for a doubleheader.
The Bobcats will then travel home to play a doubleheader against Central Michigan on Saturday, March 26 in their home opener at the Ohio Softball Field.
Ohio then travels to take on Toledo (April 3) before the Bobcats head to Bowling Green for another doubleheader on April 4.
The Bobcats will play six-straight games at home starting with the Buckeyes on April 7 for a single game starting at 6 p.m. Ohio will then close out with two doubleheaders against Buffalo (April 10) and Kent State (April 11). Ohio wraps up the homestand against Marshall on Wednesday (April 15) starting at 3 p.m.
Ohio will break from MAC play to travel to Blacksburg, Va. to take on Virginia Tech on April 16 for a doubleheader starting at 4 p.m. The Bobcat return to conference play on Friday, April 18 where they host Akron starting at 1 p.m.
Ohio will then hit the road to Muncie, Ind. for a doubleheader with Ball State on Friday, April 24. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m. The Bobcats will then head to DeKalb, Ill. for a series against Northern Illinois (April 26) with a doubleheader scheduled for 2 p.m.
The Bobcats will then wrap up the home portion of the schedule May 2 when Ohio hosts Miami. The Bobcats will face off with the RedHawks with a doubleheader at the OSF that is set for 1 p.m.
The Bobcats will then head to Akron, Ohio looking to capture a 2020 MAC Tournament title. The 2020 MAC Tournament will take place May 6-9 at Firestone Stadium.
The 2020 NCAA Regionals are set for May 17-19 at campus sites, with the 2020 NCAA Super Regionals scheduled for May 24-27, also at Campus Sites. The 2020 Women's College World Series will take play May June 4 at USA Softball Hall of Fame Stadium in Oklahoma City, Okla.
