Ohio Women’s Basketball Adds Three During Early Signing Period

ATHENS, Ohio -- The Ohio women's basketball team has announced the addition Deesh Beck, Abby Garnett and of Sasha Antonova, during the early signing period, head coach Bob Boldon announced today (Nov. 9).

"We are very excited about the talent and character in this class," Boldon said. "Each player brings a diverse skill set to our program. The staff worked very hard to identify and evaluate Abby, Edecia, and Sasha and it was a joy to recruit each of them. I am thrilled to welcome all three of them to the Bobcat family."

Deesh Beck | 5-9 | Forward | Ottawa Hills High School (2014-15), Grand Rapids Christian (2016-17) | Grand Rapids, Mich.
Beck was her team's captain in 2014-15 at Ottawa Hills High School and a two-time team captain from 2016-18 at Grand Rapids Christian. She was named All-State Honorable Mention in 2017. Led by head coach Crystal Strickland, Beck and the Grand Rapids Christian Eagles were District Champs in 2016 and in 2017. Beck highlighted her career with a 30-point, 11 rebound game in her junior season.

Deesh is the daughter of Joyce and James Beck. She has three siblings, Charisa, Jeremy, and her favorite athlete, James. James Beck II plays basketball for Oakland University.

Abby Garnett | 6-1 | Forward | Golden High School | Golden, Colorado)
Garnett is a four-year varsity letter holder at Golden High School where she received multiple awards. Most notably are First Team All-Conference, First Team All-State, and Conference Player of the Year in her Junior season. During this season Garnett averaged 16.9 points per game and 9.7 rebounds per game while also adding 3.2 assists per game. Garnett and the Golden Demons went on that year to win their League Championship.

Abby is the daughter of Jenny and Bill Garnett. Her father played professional basketball for the Dallas Mavericks and the Indiana Pacers and later played overseas. Her mother played collegiately at Northern Colorado University. Abby has one brother, Shad, and one sister, Elli.

Sasha Antonova | 6-2 | Forward | Teays Valley Christian School (2017-18) | Moscow, Russia
Antonova played for the Spartak Noginsk in Moscow, Russia for two seasons from 2015-17. She also played AAU for the West Virginia Infinity and was coached by former Bobcat Jenna Curry.

Sasha is the daughter of Tatiana and Nikolay Antonova. Her mother is an engineer and her father is a basketball coach. Sasha has one brother, Gosha, and one sister Marsha. She speaks three languages, English, German, and Russian. Her favorite athlete is Kevin Durant and her favorite sports team is the Golden State Warriors.
