Complete 2016-17 Schedule
ATHENS, Ohio â The Ohio womenâs basketball team released its 2016-17 schedule, fourth-year head coach Bob Boldon announced today.
The back-to-back Mid-American Conference Regular Season Champions will play at home 16 times and take on two Big Ten opponents, two Ohio Valley teams, one Atlantic 10 foe, one America East opponent and one Atlantic Sun team. This yearâs slate also includes 14 away games and six home non-conference contests.
Ohioâs slate begins on Saturday, Nov. 5 when the Bobcats take on Thomas More in an exhibition contest set to being at 11:30 a.m. inside the Convocation Center.
The Bobcats open the 2016-17 regular season a week later on Sunday, Nov. 13 when they take on High Point in High Point, N.C. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m.
Ohio then returns to Athens for its home opener against UT Martin on Friday, Nov. 18. The Bobcats will remain in Athens for two games to host Northern Kentucky on Monday, Nov. 21 at 7 p.m. Ohio will then take on Murray State on Nov. 26 inside the Convo.
Next, Ohio travels to Middle Tennessee State on Wednesday, Nov. 30 in Murfreesboro, Tenn.
The Bobcats then return home on Saturday, Dec. 3 to play host to A-10 foe Duquesne.
Then Ohio travels to Indianapolis to take on IUPUI on Saturday, Dec. 10. The Bobcats continue their road trip when they take on Big 10 opponent Michigan on Dec. 13 in Ann Arbor. This will be the first match-up between the Bobcats and Wolverines since Dec. 21, 2007.
The Bobcats return to Athens for back-to-back home games to take on Binghamton on Monday, Dec. 19. Then on Thursday, Dec. 22 the Bobcats play host to Big 10 opponent Illinois. This will mark first time since 2004 that the Bobcats have hosted a Big 10 opponent inside the Convocation Center.
Ohio wraps up the nonconference schedule when it travels east to take on North Carolina A&T on Wednesday, Dec. 28. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m. in Greensboro, N.C.
The Bobcats then kick off the MAC slate on Saturday, Dec. 31 when Ohio heads to Bowling Green to take on the Falcons.
Next, Ohio returns to Athens to take on Buffalo on Wednesday, Jan. 4 before heading to Northern Illinois on Saturday, Jan. 7, followed by a trip to Akron on Wednesday, Jan. 11.
Ohio Womenâs Basketball then returns to the convo to host Kent State on Saturday, Jan. 14, and then hit the road again when they travel to play Toledo on Wednesday, Jan. 18.
Then, Ohio returns to The Convo to host Eastern Michigan on Saturday, Jan. 21 followed by Western Michigan on Wednesday, Jan. 25.
The following week, Ohio heads to Oxford to play Miami on Saturday, Jan. 28 then heads up to Central Michigan on Wednesday, Feb. 1.
The Bobcats then come home to host Toledo on Saturday, Feb. 4 before packing up the following week and traveling to Ball State on Saturday, Feb. 11.
Ohio then returns home to play host to Central Michigan on Wednesday, Feb. 15 before traveling to Kent on Saturday, Feb. 18 followed by a trip to Buffalo on Wednesday, Feb. 22.
Ohio then plays its final three matches at home against Miami on Saturday, Feb. 25, Bowling Green on Wednesday, March 1 and finally wrapping up the regular season against Akron on Saturday, March 4.
This year's MAC Womenâs Basketball Tournament will begin Monday, March 6 with first round games on campus before moving to Cleveland's Quicken Loans Arena (March 8, 10-11). The MAC Womenâs Basketball Tournament Championship Game will be played on Saturday, March 11th at 11 a.m.
