@OhioWBasketball Adds Six During Early Signing Period

ATHENS, Ohio- The Ohio women's basketball team has announced the addition of Kaylee Bambule, Gabby Burris, De'Jae Denham, Cece Hooks, Erica Johnson and Alexis Stover during the early signing period, head coach Bob Boldon announced today (Nov. 11).

"This recruiting class is a culmination of a lot of hard work by my entire staff," Boldon said. "It is the biggest and most talented class we have ever assembled. I am very much looking forward to working with these young ladies, as we attempt to move our program forward."

Kaylee Bambule | 5-8 Guard | Montini Catholic High School (Plainfield, Ill.)
Bambule scored 304 points her sophomore season and dished out 77 assists and shot 48 percent from three-point range while playing in 30 games for Montini Catholic High School and head coach Jason Nichols. That season her team placed third in the state and Kaylee was awarded All-Conference, Conference MVP, Daily Herald All-Area and IBCA Second Team All-State honors. Bambule was also named Academic All-Conference her junior season. Bambule was First Team All-State and All-Conference her junior year. For her career, Bambule has hit 176 three-pointers and is also an ESPN three-star recruit.

Kaylee is the daughter of Jeff and Yvonne Bambule. She has one sibling, Jake, who currently attends Lewis University.

Gabby Burris | 5-11 Forward | Liberty Union High School (Baltimore, Ohio)
Burris was named All-Ohio Honorable Mention and First Team Central District her freshman year at Liberty Union High School. She went on to be First Team All-Ohio her sophomore year, highlighting her season with a 32 point and 21 rebound performance against Danville High School on 2/2/15. Through her two seasons at Liberty Union High School Gabrielle scored 953 points in 47 games, collected 635 rebounds and recorded 95 blocks under head coach Adam Twiss.

Gabby is the daughter of Kevin and Molly Burris. Both Kevin and Molly played basketball at Muskingum University from 1988-92. She has one sibling, Pierce.

De'Jae Denham | 5-10 Guard | Africentric Early College (Columbus, Ohio)
Denham comes from Africentric Early College in Columbus, Ohio and plays under head coach William McKinney who coached Denham and her squad to the 2016 Division III state championship. She has played for multiple Amateur Athletic Union club teams since the fifth grade. She also played with the Capital City Comets in her 11th grade year.

Denham is the daughter of Curtis Denham and Curtisha Muhammad. She has two sisters, Destini, who attends Ohio State, and Demirra.

Cece Hooks | 5-7 Guard | Thurgood Marshall High School (Dayton, Ohio)
Hooks averages 17 points, five assists and 12 rebounds per game and has played for one year under head coach Khalil Franklin. A scholar athlete, Hooks is ranked 295 in the country according to Collegiate Girls Basketball Report and 81st best guard in her position. She is also rated a four-star recruit according to Prospects Nation.

Cece is the daughter of Theresa White and has one brother, James, and one sister, Sabria. Sabria attends Sinclair community college.

Erica Johnson | 5-11 Forward | Mansfield Senior High School (Mansfield, Ohio)
Johnson scored 610 points and 165 assist while playing in 38 games for Mansfield under coach Todd Krill. Johnson was a two-year MVP also and averaged 78 percent from the free throw line. Johnson averages 21 points per game and 10.9 rebounds per contest. She was named to the First Team Northwest District, Third Team All-State, First Team Ohio Cardinal Conference and First Team Division II OHSBCA All-District 6 team.

Erica is the daughter of Eric Johnson and Katina Douglas. She has two brothers, Kean, who attends Winthrop University, and Evan. Erica also has one sister, Erin.

Alexis Stover | 5-10 Forward | Solon High School (Solon, Ohio)
Stover scored 330 points and dished out 54 assists during her junior season at Solon High School under head coach Trish Kruse. She was named All-Conference First-team her sophomore season as well as First Team GCC, AP Northeast All-District-Third Team, and All-Conference First Team her junior season. Alexis helped Solon High School qualify for states twice and is a back-to-back regional champion and a back-to-back-to-back district champion.

Alexis is the daughter of Reginald and Lynnette Stover. She has two siblings, Deven and Lauryn.

The Bobcats begin the regular season on Sunday, Nov. 13 when they head to High Point, N.C. to take on High Point. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m.
