CLEVELAND, Ohio - For the second-straight week, Ohio women's basketball senior guard Quiera Lampkins was named the Mid-American Conference East Player of the Week, the league announced today (Dec. 13).
Lampkins (Gahanna, Ohio) registered her second-straight double-double, helping lead Ohio to a thrilling 71-65 victory at IUPUI on Dec. 10. In the game, Lampkins scored 24 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Lampkins was 10-of-21 from the field, 1-of-3 from three-point range and 3-of-5 from the free throw line. Lampkins also dished out two assists and had two steals in 33 minutes of action.
Overall on the week, Lampkins averaged 24.0 points, 10.0 rebounds and shot .476 from the field and .600 from the free throw line. She also averaged two assists and two steals, helping Ohio start the season 7-0 for only the second time in program history.
The Bobcats return to action on Tuesday, Dec. 13 when Ohio faces off with Big Ten opponent Michigan. Tip-off is set for 6:30 p.m. inside the Crisler Center.
