UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.– The Ohio women's golf team wrapped up play at the 2018 Nittany Lion Invitational, hosted by Penn State at the 6,322-yard Penn State Blue Course, on Sunday (Sept. 23). The Bobcats finished the event in 16th-place after recording a third round score of 312, giving them a tournament total of 949 (+85).
Penn State finished the event as tournament champions, after finishing with an 864 (E).
Leading the Bobcats was senior Emily Hughes (Columbus, Ohio) who finished the tournament in 44thplace. Hughes wrapped up the event with a third round score of 76, giving her a tournament total of 229 (+13).
Fellow senior Nicole Smiley (Dublin, Ohio) finished the Nittany Lion Invitational in 74thplace, after registering a 77 in the third round, helping her finish the event +24 (240). Freshman Catherine Loftus (Roswell, Ga.) finished tied for 79thplace. Loftus finished Sunday with a third round score of 76, helping her finish with tournament total of 243 (+27).
Junior Marissa Balish finished the event in 82ndplace after shooting an 87 on Sunday, giving her a three-round total of 244 (+28). Senior Chloe McKinzie wrapped up the tournament tied for 86thplace, after finishing Sunday with an 83. McKinzie finished the tournament with a three-round total of 251 (+35).
Up next, the Bobcats will return to action Oct. 8-9 at the 2018 Shirley Spork EMU Invitational, hosted by Eastern Michigan at the Eagle Crest Golf Club in Ypsilanti, Mich.
