BOWLING GREEN, Ohio– The Ohio women's golf team opened play at the 2019 Dolores Black Falcon Invitational on Saturday (April 6), finishing the day in second place. The Bobcats finished the first round with a 298, finishing the day +10.
Oakland is currently leading the pack after shooting a 295 (+7).
Leading Ohio is senior Emily Hughes (Columbus, Ohio) who currently sits in in third place after finishing the day with a 72 (E). Next is senior Nicole Smiley (Dublin, Ohio) who wrapped up the first round with a 73 (+1), finishing Saturday tied for fourth place.
Freshman Catherine Loftus (Roswell, Ga.) finished the day tied for 11th place after shooting a first round score of 76 (+4), while fellow freshman Alicia Porvasnik (Hinckley, Ohio) is tied for 19th place after finishing the day with a first round score of 77 (+5).
Rounding out the scoring Bobcats is junior Marissa Balish (Allison Park, Pa.) who is tied for 30th place after finishing Saturday with a 79 (+7).
Competing individually is senior Chloe McKinzie (Medina, Ohio) who is currently tied for 27th place after shooting a day one score of 78, finishing the day +6. Fellow Senior Hannah Travis (Lancaster, Ohio), also competing as an individual, sits tied for 43rd place after a first round score of 82 (+10).
Sophomore Amanda Hayes (Dayton, Ohio) finished with an 82 (+10), tying her for 43rd place, while sophomore Ashley Flynn (Dublin, Ohio) also competed individually, finishing Saturday with an 83 (+11), tying her for 49th place.
