YPSILANTI, Mich. –The Ohio women's golf team wrapped up play at the 2019 EMU Shirley Spork Invitational hosted by Eastern Michigan at the 6,164-yard Eagle Crest Golf Club in Ypsilanti, Mich. Ohio finished the tournament in 10th place after shooting a 318 on Tuesday, giving them a two-day total of 951 (+87).
Eastern Michigan won this year's tournament with a tournament total of 899 (+35).
Leading Ohio was sophomore Alicia Porvasnik (Hinckley, Ohio) who finished the day with a 77, giving her a tournament total of 234 (+18), tying her for 34th place.
Next for Ohio was sophomore Catherine Loftus (Roswell. Ga.) who finished tied for 43rd place after shooting a third-round score of 80, giving her a two-day total of 239 (+23). Freshman Maria Howard (Dublin, Ohio) also finished the tournament tied for 43rd place, finishing with a third-round score of 83, giving her a tournament total of 239 (+23).
Junior Ashley Flynn (Dublin, Ohio) finished in 58th place after shooting a 78 on Tuesday, giving her a two-day total of 245 (+29). Rounding out the scoring Bobcats was freshman Avery Ovens (Wiloughby Hills, Ohio) who finished in 59th place after shooting an 83 to finish up Tuesday, giving her a tournament total of 246 (+30).
Competing unattached for the Bobcats was redshirt freshman Mallory Lovell (Georgetown, Ky.) who finished tied for 54th place after finishing Tuesday with an 86, giving her a two-day total of 244 (+28).
Up next, the Bobcats head to Silver Lake, Ohio for the 2019 Fall Preview Oct. 7-8. The 54-hold event is hosted by Akron at the Silver Lake Golf Club.
