ATHENS, Ohio -- The Ohio wrestling team will compete in its first dual meet of the 2018-19 season on Saturday (Nov. 10) as it travels to Buies Creek, N.C., to compete against Campbell. Action gets underway at 1 p.m. at Carter Gym.
The Bobcats opened the 2018-19 campaign at the Michigan State Open last Saturday (Nov. 3) in East Lansing, Mich. Nine individuals earned top-five finishes for Ohio. Two Bobcats came away with first-place finishes, with redshirt sophomore Mario Guillen (Perrysburg, Ohio) winning at 133 in the open bracket and freshman Colt Yinger (Nelsonville, Ohio) winning at 165 in the freshman/sophomore bracket. The open bracket also saw sophomore Aaron Naples (Brunswick, Ohio) take third at 197 and redshirt senior Zack Parker (Felton, Del.) place third at 285 while redshirt freshman Moises Guillen (Perrysburg, Ohio) took fifth at 141 and redshirt freshman Alec Hagan (Eureka, Mo.) finished fifth at 149. Freshman Giovanni Disabato (Hilliard, Ohio) placed third at 125 in the freshman/sophomore bracket while redshirt freshman Sam Meddings (Fairfield, Ohio) took third at 149 and redshirt freshman Mason Kroening (Aurora, Ill.) placed fourth at 197.
