ATHENS, Ohio -- The Ohio wrestling program is celebrating its 100th anniversary (1919-2019) all throughout the 2018-19 season.
"It's exciting to have the opportunity to celebrate 100 years of Ohio wrestling," said 22nd-year head coach Joel Greenlee. "Our program has a rich championship history that includes many memorable achievements. We are looking forward to celebrating our past with all of our fans and alumni this season."
Throughout the history of the program, the Bobcats have earned 15 Mid-American Conference team championships and have finished in the top 20 at the NCAA Championships eight times. Ohio has tallied 106 individual MAC titles and 27 All-American honors. Four individuals have won national titles for the Bobcats -- Kermit Blosser (1932; 191 pounds), Harry Houska (1964; 191 pounds), Andy Daniels (1978; 118 pounds) and Dwight Gardner (1998; 158 pounds).
