ATHENS, Ohio -- The Ohio wrestling team (5-4, 3-1 MAC) looks to continue its winning ways as it closes out its 2018-19 home schedule with a pair of Mid-American Conference matches this weekend at the Convocation Center, playing host to Old Dominion (7-5, 4-2 MAC) on Friday (Feb. 8) at 6 p.m. ET and SIUE (1-10, 1-5 MAC) on Saturday (Feb. 9) at 1 p.m. ET. Both matches will be streamed live on ESPN+.

The Bobcats will wrap up their celebration of the program's 100th anniversary this weekend. Ohio will recognize its alumni who have earned all All-America honors on Friday and then honor its four alumni who won national championships during their time competing for the Bobcats -- Kermit Blosser (1932; 191 pounds), Harry Houska (1964; 191 pounds), Andy Daniels (1978; 118 pounds) and Dwight Gardner (1998; 158 pounds).

Ohio will also host its Senior Day on Saturday, honoring the careers of Arsen Ashughyan (Vanadzor, Armenia), Nate Hall (Lewis Center, Ohio), Derek Hillman (Woodhaven, Mich.), Kyle Kaminski (Parma, Ohio), Devin King (Thornville, Ohio), Cameron Kelly (Bellbrook, Ohio), Zack Parker (Felton, Del.) and Austin Reese (Urbana, Ohio).

The Bobcats enter this weekend's matches having won three-straight MAC matches, most recently knocking off Central Michigan, 19-15) last Sunday (Feb. 3) at McGuirk Arena in Mount Pleasant, Mich. The match began at 125 pounds, with redshirt junior Shakur Laney (Canal Winchester, Ohio) winning by forfeit. Kelly produced a big 13-4 major decision victory at 141. He is now 11-2 on the season with a 4-0 mark in conference action. His win over Marten was his first by major decision this year. Redshirt freshman Alec Hagan (Eureka, Mo.) made it a 13-3 lead for Ohio courtesy of a 9-6 win at 149. He upped his overall record to 14-9 and is now 3-1 in conference matches. The lead grew to 13 points for the Bobcats when redshirt junior Zac Carson (Akron, Ohio) came through with a 7-4 win by decision at 157. Carson improved to 16-5 on the year and 3-1 in MAC meets. Freshman Colt Yinger (Nelsonville, Ohio) made it four-straight wins for Ohio when he beat Blake Montrie with an 8-4 decision win at 165. He is now 12-6 in his rookie year and picked up his second conference win.

Ohio is 2-1 at home so far this year. The Bobcats beat Chattanooga, 22-19, on Dec. 20, feel to No. 5-ranked Missouri, 30-12, on Jan. 11 and topped archrival Kent State, 24-12, on Jan. 18 in the annual Grudge Match between the two programs.

As a team, the Bobcats are now ranked third in the MAC with 14 points, per the conference's February coaches' rankings. Ohio is ranked behind Missouri (36 points) and Old Dominion (16 points). Individually, Ohio boasts six student-athletes ranked in the top-four of their respective weight classes in the league. Laney is still holding down the top spot at 125 pounds. Redshirt sophomore Mario Guillen (Perrysburg, Ohio) and Hagan at 149 are both ranked second at 133 and 149, respectively. Carson is ranked third at 157 while Kelly and Yinger are ranked fourth at 141 and 165, respectively.

Old Dominion owns a 7-5 overall record and a 4-2 mark in MAC matches. The Monarchs last competed on Jan. 27, earning a 24-17 home win over Duke at the Ted Constant Center in Norfolk, Va. Old Dominion's last conference match resulted in a 28-13 victory over SIUE at home on Jan. 25.

In its first season as a member of the MAC, SIUE is 1-10 overall and owns a 1-5 conference record. The Cougars lone victory of the 2018-19 season thus far came on Jan. 11, when SIUE topped Buffalo, 20-16.
