2018-19 NWCA Mid-Major Poll

ATHENS, Ohio -- The Ohio wrestling team finished the 2018-19 regular season ranked 19th in the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Mid-Major Poll. Formulated two years ago, the Mid-Major Top 20 concentrates on the programs that fall outside of the traditional "Power 5" conferences.

The Bobcats concluded the regular season with a record of 8-6 -- including a 4-3 mark in Mid-American Conference matches. Ohio recorded non-conference victories over Appalachian State, Chattanooga, Bloomsburg and Gardner Webb and conference wins over Kent State, Northern Illinois, Central Michigan and SIUE.

The Bobcats finished the regular season ranked third in the final MAC team rankings of the 2018-19 season, which were announced by the league office on Feb. 21.

Ohio is preparing to compete in the 2019 MAC Championships, which will be held this weekend (March 8-9) at the Ted Constant Convocation Center in Norfolk, Va. The 2019 MAC Championships will be streamed live on ESPN+.
