Ohio Swimming and Diving Sits in Eighth After Day Two of the Ohio State Open Invitational

COLUMBUS, Ohio. – The Ohio swimming and diving team wrapped up day two at the 2019 Ohio State Open Invitational on Friday (Nov. 22) sitting in eighth place with a total of 359 points.

Junior Samantha Glass (Villa Hills, Ky.) dropped over three seconds from her seed time in the 400 IM, completing the finals race in 4:23.45, which was good enough for 19th. Three Bobcats tallied points in the 200 Freestyle, freshman Emma Fortman (Madeira, Ohio), sophomore Madison Haschmeyer (Springfield, Ill.), and junior captain Katherine Garrity (Eagan, Minn.). Fortman finished  17th with a time of 1:49.94, Haschmeyer finished 37th at 1:53.22, and Garrity came in 40th with a time of 1:54.22.

On the diving side, freshman Halli Siwik (Fishers, Ind.) completed the 1M diving event with a score of 220.65, good enough for 16th.

The open wraps up tomorrow with 8 a.m. prelims and 6:30 p.m. finals. Tomorrow's events include the 1650 Freestyle, 200 Backstroke, 100 Freestyle, 200 Breaststroke, 200 Butterfly, and 400 Freestyle Relay.
