CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Mid-American Conference announced its 2018 Women's Indoor Track & Field Academic All-MAC team on Friday.
Of the 165 student-athletes receiving the honor, 11 of them recorded a perfect 4.0 grade point average including Ohio senior Alyssa Atkinson (Granville, Ohio).
Toledo leads the conference with 18 student-athletes named to the academic team. Western Michigan follows close behind with 17, while Akron and Ohio respectively follow with places 16 and 15 student-athletes receiving the honor.
The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport.
