Ohio Track And Field Returns From Kent State Qualifier

Kent, Ohio – Ohio track and field returns from a day trip at the Kent State Qualifier (Feb.9)


Senior Gaza Odunaiya (Athens, Ohio) placed second overall in the weight throw reaching 19.24m. 

In the 1-mile run, senior Emily Deering (Geneva, Ohio) finished in second with a time of 4:58.15

Junior Ashleigh Carr (Oakland, Neb.) competed in the 400m dash and finished eighth with a time of 57.44 seconds.

In the women's 800m run, junior Melissa Koziol (Burton, Ohio) finished in fifth with at time of 2:15.52.

The 3000m run was next, and senior Madison Sury (Waterford, Ohio) finished in fifth place with a final time of 10:11.66

In the last event of the evening, the women's 4x400m relay saw the Bobcats finish in seventh place with a combined time of 3:53.99

The Bobcats have one final meet to compete in for the season before taking on the MAC Championships. The next meet, the Buckeye Tune-Up Meet will take place Friday, Feb. 15 in Columbus, Ohio.
