Outdoor: Started the season with a personal-best in the javelin throw at the Wake Forest Open reaching 35.05m to place 13th… At the Ohio Cherry Blossom Invitational, recorded a win in the 4x400m relay with a time of 4:01.94 and had a season-best performance in the 400m hurdles placing fourth with a 1:06.33 time… At the All-Ohio Championships, placed fourth overall in the heptathlon with an overall score of 4,306 and recorded personal-bests in shot put reaching 9.55m, the 100m hurdles clocking in at 15.23 seconds and in the 200m dash clocking in at 26.87 seconds… At the MAC Championships heptathlon, recorded a personal-best score of 4,530 points to place eighth overall and recorded personal-bests in the long jump reaching 5.18m, the high jump reaching 1.51m and in the 800m run clocking in at 2:27.22.
Indoor: Kicked of the first meet with a season-best in the high jump at the Marshall vs. Ohio dual with a jump of 1.43m to place sixth… Recorded her highest pentathlon score of 2992 points at the YSU National Invite… At the Ohio State University Tune-up, placed 18th in the long jump with a season-best jump of 5.17m… Recorded a personal-best at the MAC Championship in the 60m hurdles with a time of 9.42 to place 12th and posted a season-best in shot put with a throw of 9.04m to place 15th to end with a pentathlon total score of 2863 points.
2013-2014 Season
Outdoor: Finished seventh in the 400-meter hurdles in a time of 1:07.83 at the Vanderbilt Black & Gold Invitational… Helped her team place sixth in the 4x4 in a time of 4:15.29 at the Ohio Cherry Blossom Invitational… Placed seventh with her 4x4 team at the All-Ohio Track & Field Championships in a mark of 3:57.28… Finished fifth with her 4x4 team in a time of 4:02.43 at the RedHawk Invitational… Placed third in the 4x4 in a time of 4:11.95 and third in the 400-meter hurdles in a time of 1:07.19 at the Ohio Open.
Indoor: Finished sixth in the 4x4 at the BGSU Tom Wright Classic in a time of 4:15.19… Placed fifth in the 800-meter run in a mark of 2:38.39, seventh in the high jump in a mark of 1.43 meters and seventh in the long jump in a performance of 5.01 meters at the YSU National Invitational… Posted an eighth place finish in the high jump at the Spire NCAA D-1 Indoor T&F Invitational… Helped her team finish ninth in the 4x4 in a time of 4:17.47 at the Ohio State Tune-Up.
Prior to Ohio: Ran cross country and track and played basketball at Louisville High School… Was named team captain for the cross country and track teams in 2012 and 2013.
Personal: Daughter of Ross and Kara Rankin… Has one sister, Mattie, and one brother, Reese… Mom ran track at Kent State and sister ran track at Malone University, while dad played football at Edinboro University… Lists favorite teams as the Cleveland Browns, Cavs and Indians and favorite athletes as retired Ohio Bobcats, Gab Kain and Shelby Walker… Enjoys reading, playing with her puppy, Halo, and hanging out with friends and family… Majoring in Sports Management.
