Who is your volleyball mentor or inspiration?
"I don't have one specific person. I started so young, so I've always looked up to the older people. The 18s team was always an inspiration, just watching their practice and how they competed. They were so good that it inspired me to want to get up to that level that they were on."
What motivates you?
"I think success and winning motivates me. I love to win, and I love competing. Just the physical act of competing and playing in a high intensity game motivates me."
What is your volleyball mindset?
"Just always to be aggressive and take as much as I can and do as much as I can for my team. Always doing my job. I'm a pretty aggressive player, so just staying in the mindset of, 'I'm going to do this for my team, and I'm going to do my job so everybody else can do their job, always.' That's how I think when I'm playing."
Why do you play volleyball?
"I started playing because my sister played. She would make me practice with her. I actually started playing, and I turned out to be really good at it, so I love that I can just compete. It's such an amazing sport. There's no other sport like it. I love the feeling that it gives me when I'm playing in a big game, just having so much fun with your team and being hype with everyone. I love it."
What is your proudest volleyball moment or memory?
"When I was 13, we played in the national championship in Orlando. This was when I was an outside hitter, so I was a little taller than everybody else when I was 13. We got third in 13-open national. Me being an outside hitter and just playing all the way around. We had such a good team. We were so good when we were little, and we beat so many good teams. It was crazy that we even got to third in the nation. That was pretty awesome."
When you hear Ohio volleyball, what do you think?
"I think about how good they are. One of the reasons I committed here was just because everyone talked so highly about it. They were ranked high when I committed here, and I think just wanting to be in a program that's had success and that I could come it and contribute to having more success. I like that it's a winning program and people pride themselves on being successful and not just having a good season and being a winning team."
What do you like about Ohio University and/or Athens?
"I love how it's a college campus. That's exactly what you think of when you think of Athens, Ohio. Ohio University is here for Athens, which is awesome because people know you when you're on the volleyball team. So many people support it, even if they're not going to the university. Everyone is here to support Ohio. Even if it's not sports. The academics, everything is just so supported. It's an awesome environment."
What is your impression of Bobcat volleyball fans?
"I love the Ohio fans. Just how interactive they are. When I came on my visit, there were so many people compared to what I'm used to. They're cheering, they're supporting, they're dancing, they're playing the games. They want to get in the serving game after the second set. It's just awesome how interactive they are, and they want to see us win and be successful."
