ATHENS, Ohio – The Ohio men and women's cross country teams travel to Oxford, Ohio to compete at the 2017 Mid-American Conference Championships hosted by Miami. The Bobcats will face eight teams on the men's side and 11 teams on the women's side on Saturday (Oct. 28) beginning at 11 a.m. with the men and the women beginning shortly after.

SCOUTING THE BOBCATS
The Ohio men and women's cross country teams come off of a weekend competing at the Pre-National Invitational (Oct. 14) in Louisville, Ky. where the women;s team placed fifth overall with a score of 219 points and the men's team placed eighth overall and with a total of 246 points.
Senior Ellen Isaac (Mansfield, Ohio) crossed the line first for the 'Cats and in 11th place out of over 259 other Division I runners at 21:21.0. She helped the women finish behind Nevada, BYU, Michigan, and Arkansas. The 'Cats placed ahead of 24 other institutions including MAC opponent, Miami (23rd place).
Junior Alyssa Atkinson (Granville, Ohio) came in next in for Ohio in 46th place and with a 22:01.2 mark. Junior Madison Sury (Waterford, Ohio), sophomore Abby Miller (Mansfield, Ohio), and freshman Hailey Bowes (Arlington Heights, Ill.) followed shortly after. Sury finished in 55th at 22:10.0, Miller in 64th at 22:14.9, and Bowes in 70th at 22:21.6.
On the men's side, Junior Kyle Bussard (Germantown, Ohio) crossed the line first for the 'Cats and in 23rd place out of over 215 other Division I runners at 24:50.7. Bussard helped the Bobcats place behind Bowling Green (fifth place) and ahead of Miami (ninth place).
Junior Zach Zimmerman (Pickerington, Ohio) came in next in for Ohio in 51st and at a 25:16.5 mark. Senior Matt Evans (Mentor, Ohio), senior Adam Wise (Lancaster, Ohio) and freshman Matt Agosta (Circleville, Ohio) followed shortly after. Evans finished in 69th at 25:28.5, Wise in 83rd at 25:40.0, and Agosta in 93rd at 25:45.7.
Following the MAC Championships, the Bobcats look to compete at NCAA Regionals on Nov. 10.
