CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Mid-American Conference announced its 2017 Men's and Women's Cross Country Academic All-MAC teams this morning (Nov. 21). A total of 52 student-athletes were named to the men's team while 83 student-athletes were named to the women's team. Ohio claimed seven of the men's spots and the women have eight.
Bowling Green and Central Michigan each led the men's team with eight, while Miami led the women's squad with 10 student-athletes.
Ohio's Alyssa Atkinson and Brady McBride recorded a perfect 4.0 GPA along with eleven other student-athletes in the MAC.
The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport.
