MAC Announces 2019 Men's and Women's Cross Country Polls

CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Mid-American Conference announced today the 2019 MAC Men's and Women's Cross Country preseason polls as voted on by the league's head coaches. The Cross Country coaches' have selected the Toledo women's team and the Miami men's team lift the trophy in DeKalb as MAC Champions this season.

The Miami RedHawks men's team returns seven of the nine runners from their 2018 MAC Championship squad.
 
The head coaches selected Akron to finish second in the poll, with Eastern Michigan, Bowling Green and Buffalo respectively completing the top five. Central Michigan and Ohio tied for sixth, with Kent State and Toledo round out the men's poll in eighth and ninth.

The UT women are looking for their first team title in five years. First-year Head Coach Andrea Grove-McDonough inherits a veteran Rocket team led by First Team All-MAC member Athena Welsh.

Eastern Michigan, Miami, Northern Illinois, Akron, and Central Michigan took the top half of the tally. While Bowling Green, Kent State, Western Michigan, Ball State, Ohio, and Buffalo respectively complete the women's poll.
