LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Ohio men's and women's cross country finished up at the Louisville Cross Country Classic on Saturday, Oct. 5, finishing 20th out of 41 teams and 28th respectively out of 39 teams respectively.
Leading the pack for the men's team was redshirt junior Griffin Butler (Newark, Ohio), who finished 23rd out of 373 participants with a time of 24:18.3 in the 8K race. Senior Erik McKean (Pataskala, Ohio) and junior Seth Gard (Eaton, Ohio) finished back-to-back in the race, finishing with times of 25:05.4 and 25:05.6.
On the women's side junior Hailey Bowes (Arlington Heights, Ill.) led the charge for the Bobcats, finishing 31st out of 343 racers, with a time of 17:42.8 in the 5K race. Also finishing in good positions for Ohio were sophomore Madelyn Bartolone (Massillon, Ohio) and junior Jessie Hartman (Lebanon, Ohio), finishing with times of 18:42.9 and 18:48.4.
The Bobcats take a weekend off from competition before heading to Terre Haute, Ind. to take part in Pre-Nationals on Saturday, Oct. 19.
