CLEVELAND—The Ohio baseball team was represented by eight student-athletes on the 2023 Academic All-Mid-American Conference Team, as announced by the league office today (June 9). A total of 111 student-athletes were named to this year's squad.
Bowling Green led the way with 17 student-athletes on this year's squad. Western Michigan followed with 15 selections, while Kent State had 14 members on the team. Ball State's Justin Conant, Toledo's Trey Wright and Western Michigan's Greg Budig and Luke Thelen all posted perfect 4.0 GPA's.
The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport.
